A Word from the Directress....
I warmly welcome you to the Clarksville Montessori Children's House. We have been an established private school in Clarksville Tennessee since the year 2005. We are an accredited Montessori school, serving children ages one through seven. Our teachers have degrees and many have their Montessori certification or are in the process of obtaining it.
I want to personally invite you to feel at home in our beautiful turn-of-the-century, Italianate-style mansion house located in the prestigious historic district of Clarksville. Wesley Drane, who was the first banker in Clarksville built the home to raise his five daughters. At the time, it was the first and only house on Madison Street and was considered to be located "out in the country".
Many Montessori schools are located in historic homes. This is a lovely tradition and works to maintain the feeling of hearth and home of bygone years, where children were schooled at home under the watchful eye of mother.
Please feel encouraged to ask questions, to talk frequently with your child's teacher, and to become personally involved with your child's education here at the Children's House. We have worked diligently to create an atmosphere of grace and peace, where children can naturally learn, explore the many subjects of academia, and to become individuals of integrity and high esteem.
The school year is structured so that your child will progressively grow in knowledge, understanding, and skill. We carefully follow the Montessori philosophy and methodology, and we willingly work to foster good will between our teachers and the families we serve. We hope you feel at home here, and we look forward to a year of learning and fun!
